Comets best Devils in Lady Charger Classic

CYPRESS, CA (12/4/2022) -- On the final day of the Lady Charger Classic, Palomar got their first taste of NorCal basketball as they faced Merced College and easily won 76-44 to improve to 9-0 on the season. 

Sophomore Deajanae Harvey continued her campaign for State Player of the Year as she finished the day with 26 points, four rebounds, seven assists, and six steals, as she finished the crossover event as the Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row. Sophomore Camille Sroufe was the only other double-digit scorer for the Comets as she finished with 18 points to go along with two rebounds, three assists and three steals. As a team, Palomar committed 11 turnovers but caused 24 to score 22 points. Sophomores Faith Schwantner, Gabby Sebit and Rory Hetrick were named to the All-Tournament Team. 

Palomar will head to Moorpark College for their crossover event Dec. 16 and 17 where they will face Pasadena City College and San Joaquin Delta College.
