Palomar finds success at PCAC Invite #2

SAN MARCOS, CA (3/17/2023) -- The Palomar College Comets hosted the second PCAC Invite on Friday afternoon and they got the job done.

Sophomore Timothy Godin won two events. He took home the 1000Y Free with a time of 10:02.45. In his next race he won the 200Y Free with a time of 1:49.19. In his final individual race of the day, Godin won the 500Y Free with a time of 4:52.25. Sophomore Jacob Rochman also won his three events. In the 100Y Back he finished with a time of 56.72. He was back for the 200Y Fly, in whihc he finished with a time of 2:00.54. His final event was the 200Y IM, in which he and freshman Ajay Ahooja went 1-2. Rochman finished with a time of 2:00.30 and Ahooja finished two second later with a time of 2:02.72. Sophomore Kevin Brunia took home the 200Y Breast with a time of 2:19.19 and the 100Y Breast with a time of 1:00.52 earlier in the day. He finsihed in second in the 50Y Free with a time of 22.53, a mere three tenths slower than first place. Ahooja was the only other Comet to win a race on Friday. He won the 100Y Free with a time of 49.79. 

The relay team consisting of Brunia, Godin, Rochman and Ahooja finished in second for the 200Y Medley. Grossmont finished in first with a time of 1:43.88, but the Comets were right behind with a time of 1:44.85. The second relay team of Manuel Carriles, Jake Coutts, Emmanuel De La Torre and Cody Poure raced the 200Y Free and finished in second with a time of 1:38.08.

Donovan Taylor, the lone male diver, competed down at San Diego Mesa College. He won both the 1M and 3M with scores of 262.85 and 273.65, respectively.

Palomar will travel to Southwestern College on Friday for the final conference meet before the championship meet at the end of April.
