Lazuka commits to UCSD to continue baseball career

SAN MARCOS, CA (3/5/2024) -- Sophomore infielder Noah Lazuka has committed to the University of California, San Diego to continue his collegiate baseball career.

Lazuka, the starting second baseman for the Comets, is currently leading the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference in batting average at .481 and is third in the state standings. In 16 games so far this season, Lazuka has totaled 14 RBI, 17 runs and six stolen bases. He has one home run on the year. His slash line is .481/.565/.685. In the field, Lazuka has a .963 fielding percentage and has turned 15 double plays. Last season, Lazuka played in 37 games and finished with 60 hits, 39 RBI, 44 runs, seven stolen bases, 12 doubles, two triples and five home runs. 

UCSD is a NCAA Division I school and competes in the Big West Conference. This season they are 9-3 and have not started conference play. Last season they finished 34-18 overall and 21-9 in conference.
