Women continue dominance on day one of Battle of the Beach

LONG BEACH, CA (10/25/2019) – Women's water polo is competing in the Battle at the Beach tournament hosted by Long Beach City College. Today the team faced Mt. San Antonio College and Rio Hondo College and won both games, 9-7 and 15-2, respectively.

Against Mt. SAC, Sydni Dickson led the team with four goals. Harley Young netted three and Ciara Webb found the net twice. Dickson recorded five steals, while Young and Webb both had one. Goalie Julia Miller had nine saves on 16 shots.

In the Rio Hondo game, Sydni Dickson was perfect on the day going 5-for-5 on shots. She also racked up five steals. Harley Young, Karla Cardona, Sophie White, Ciara Webb and Haley Balch all had two goals. White recorded two steals, while Young, Cardona, Webb and Balch all had one. Julia Miller had seven saves on nine shots.

The women are now 12-8 overall and are on a 4-game win streak. They will face Pasadena City College and East Los Angeles College tomorrow.
