Volleyball Conference Update

After dropping their first conference match to San Diego Miramar College 3-1, women's volleyball has gone 0-4 over their last four matches. The Comets faced a tough week when they took on MiraCosta College and Grossmont, both teams were ranked No. 6 and No. 4, respectively. Palomar lost to both teams 3-0.

Courtney Hoffman and Maile Counts both recorded 11 total attacks against the Jets. Hoffman had six kills. Counts also led the team with five digs. In the Grossmont match, Hoffman had 11 total attacks with three kills and Alina Lecakes-Jones had 10 total attacks. Arielle Vannoy had three digs. Zandrea Brown had 16 total attacks including three kills.

Last week, the Comets took on Southwestern and took the match to five sets, but ultimately lost 3-2. They then faced No. 14 San Diego Mesa College and lost 3-0.

The Comets dropped sets one and two to the Jaguars (25-20 and 25-22) and came back to win sets three and four (25-18 and 25-16). The two teams went back and forth in the fifth set, with the Comets being up by five at one point. They lost set five 17-15.

Palomar is 2-10 overall and 0-5 in conference play. They have two away games this week. First, they will face San Diego City College (7-6, 3-2) at 5 p.m. om Wednesday and then Imperial Valley College (7-6, 2-3) at 5 p.m. on Friday.
