SAN DIEGO, CA (11/11/2025) -- Palomar women's soccer wrapped up the 2025 regular season on the road Tuesday afternoon, falling 1-0 to San Diego City College in a tightly contested match.
Despite generating 11 shots and six on goal, the Comets couldn't find the breakthrough they needed. City scored the lone goal of the match in the 68th minute, finishing a counterattack that proved to be the difference. Gianna Belasco kept Palomar within striking distance with four saves, and the Comets pushed hard in the closing minutes but couldn't convert the equalizer.
While the result wasn't the finale Palomar hoped for, their overall body of work keeps them firmly in contention for a postseason berth. The Comets finish the regular season at 11-4-5 overall and 9-3-4 in PCAC play, positioning themselves well heading into the postseason selection process.
The seeding meeting is scheduled for Sunday, where Palomar is expected to remain competitive for a SoCal Regional playoff spot.
