Women's soccer opens up conference play

SAN MARCOS, CA (9/13/2019) – Palomar lost to Mt. San Jacinto College 2-0 on Friday afternoon. Despite the score, the team improved from their last game.

The Comets open up conference play this week with two road games against Cuyamaca College on Tuesday and Southwestern College on Friday. Cuyamaca is currently 0-2 and has scored two goals in two games. They have a 40 percent shot rate and average 2.5 shots a game. Southwestern is 1-5 and has scored six goals in their six games. They are currently on a four-game losing streak. The Jaguars average 7.3 shots a game and have a shot percentage of .136.

Palomar currently sits at 0-3-1. They have scored one goal this season. They average three shots a game and have a shot percentage of 0.83.

For games played through September 16, Southwestern is currently in fourth place in the conference standings, with Palomar tied for fifth and Cuyamaca in seventh.

Palomar will play Cuyamaca at 3 pm on Tuesday and Southwestern at 1 pm on Friday.
