Comets open up season with a tie against Compton

SAN MARCOS, CA (9/3/2019) – Women's soccer opened up their 2019 season at home against Compton College with a 0-0 tie.

Goalie Kassandra Blanchard recorded nine total saves on the day, five in the first half and four in the second.

Dominique Driggs and Juliana Cervera both had three shot attempts but could not get the ball in the net. Valerie Hernandez and Angela Hernandez both had two attempts.

The Comets are 0-0-1 after the contest.

The women will be back on the pitch on September 6 when they head to Golden West for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
