Comets have no problem against Citrus, host Antelope Valley in Supers
SAN MARCOS, CA (5/4/2019) – Palomar sailed past Citrus College in game two of their regional, 5-0.
In the first inning, Samantha Renteria (1-3) doubled and brought Kylie Pignone (3-4) home. Later in the third inning, Megan Wachholtz (2-3) doubled and Pignone scored again.
The Comets scored two more runs in the fifth inning. Pignone and Wachholtz were on base when Sarah Fisher (2-4) tripled and the runners scored. Kendall Kates (1-4) then doubled and Fisher scored.
Catalina Aguilar pitched all seven innings. She recorded two strikeouts and had one walk. She gave up three hits.
The Comets improve to 35-5 on the season.
With two wins over Citrus, Palomar advances to Super Regionals. The first game will be Friday, May 10 at 2 p.m. Palomar will be hosting Antelope Valley in a best of three series.
