Comets run past Wolverines in run-rule fashion

SAN MARCOS, CA (4/5/2019) – Palomar defeated San Bernardino Valley 16-0 on Friday.

Allie Hughen pitched two innings and had five strikeouts and Catalina Aguilar pitched two innings and had four strikeouts. Aguilar leads the conference in strikeouts with 86 on the season. Together they pitched a perfect game. 

On the offensive side, Kylie Pignone was 4-4 with four runs and two RBIs. Megan Wachholtz was 3-4 crossed home plate three times. Kendall Kates was 3-3, which included a two-run homerun in the second inning. This was her first career homerun. McKenna Crawford was 2-2 with three RBIs.

With today's win, the Comets move into first place in conference. They are currently 10-1 in PCAC play, they're only loss coming from Southwestern.

The Comets will be back on the field on Saturday for a doubleheader against Cypress. First game is at noon and the second will be at 2 p.m.
