Comets Dominate Miramar to Stay Perfect in Conference

SAN DIEGO, CA (10/1/2025) -- Palomar men's water polo kept rolling in conference play with a commanding 21-1 road victory over San Diego Miramar College on Wednesday afternoon. The win pushes the Comets to 6-8 overall and 2-0 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.

The Comets blitzed the Jets early, scoring eight unanswered goals in the opening quarter and seven more in the second to take a 15-0 lead at halftime. Ramiro Mosquera led the offensive explosion with a game-high six goals, while Mikey Montoro added three goals and five assists to pace a balanced attack. Jack Fritz and Brody Rodriguez each scored three times, and Sam Goode, Morgan Hartness, Josiah Wagner, Luca Artiglio, and Cody Schnick all chipped in goals.

In the cage, goalkeepers Mitchell Peyton and Alex Gonzalez split time and combined for 11 saves while allowing just one goal across four quarters. The Jets didn't find the back of the net until late in the third period, and the Comet defense smothered Miramar throughout, holding them to just 12 total shots.

Palomar will look to carry the momentum into its next stretch of conference games as the season heats up.
