Palomar dominant in 8-0 shutout over Imperial Valley

IMPERIAL, CA (11/4/2022) -- Palomar travelled to Imperial Valley on Friday afternoon and won 8-0 in true dominant fashion as eight different Comets scored a goal. 

The Comets wasted no time as Masataro Ono scored on an assist from Henry Galindo in the first minute of the game. In need a of a comeback after Tuesday night's 4-2 loss to Cuyamaca, the Comets kept their foot on the gas. In the 17th-minute, Marius Anquetil scored off an assist from Thomas Marques, who then scored three minutes later off a pass from Diego Picano. With a 3-0 lead 20 minutes into the game, the pressure was on for Imperial Valley to score. The goal never came as Palomar blasted off five goals in the second half. Carlos Elizondo, Picano, Kevin Rubio, Dustin Vena and Eddie Arias all found the net as the Comets took the 8-0 victory.

Palomar moves to 11-5-3 overall and 8-3 in conference play. With an off day on Tuesday, the Comets will host the San Diego City College Knights on Friday night for Sophomore Night for the final regular season game. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
