Comets tie Cypress in the second half

CYPRESS, CA (9/24/2019) – Men's soccer tied with Cypress College 1-1. Cypress scored within the first 10 minutes of the game. It was not until the second half when Arturo Soltero tied it up on an unassisted goal at the 49-minute mark.

Palomar got off seven total shots, including three from Soltero, and Robert Jeffers, John Bernal, Shem Nikiza, and Christian Bahena all with one shot. Soltero and Nikiza were the only two with shots on goal. The Comets also had four corner kicks, three in the first half and one in the second.

Goalie Caleb Daza had five saves on six shots. Devin Fenley received his first yellow card of the season.

Palomar is now 4-3-1 overall and will be home on Friday when they take on Citrus College at 2 p.m. for their final non-conference match of the season.
