Late goal not enough for Comets; lose to Santa Monica 2-1

SAN MARCOS, CA (9/4/2019) – Men's soccer lost to Santa Monica College 2-1 on Wednesday.

The game remained scoreless through the 71-minute mark when Santa Monica's Eto Atiabet scored to make it 1-0. Santa Monica scored again in the last minute. Palomar was fighting to get an opportunity to score. Arturo Soltero scored in the final minute to get the Comets on the board.

Seth Murphy and Jacob Stutzman both received their first yellow cards of the season in the match.

Palomar is now 1-2 overall and 1-1 at home. The men will be back on the pitch on Saturday when they head to Santiago Canyon for a 6:30 kickoff.
