Comets finish third at Tukwet, move to second in conference play

BEAUMONT, CA (3/11/2019) -- Palomar finished third at Tukwet Canyon shooting a team total of 396, finishing behind College of the Desert (392) and Mt. San Jacinto (393) in the second conference match of the season.

Jacob Montes tied with College of the Desert's Clem Heurtin with a score of 73, or 1-over par. Kyoshiro Azumada and Mt. San Jacinto's Tyler Leone both finished with a score of 74, or 2-over par. Alex Rhee shot 77. Richard Jeppensen and Michael McMillan shot 89 and 90, respectively.

Palomar moves to No. 2 in conference play, sitting behind College of the Desert. In two rounds of play, Azumada sits on top of the conference standings, followed by Montes in second.

The men will be teeing off for the third conference match on Wednesday.
