Palomar Responds with Road Win at San Diego Mesa
SAN DIEGO, CA (1/30/2026) -- Palomar answered in a big way on Friday night, bouncing back with a 91–77 road victory over San Diego Mesa College in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference action.
The Comets took control early, building a 42–31 halftime lead, and continued to apply pressure in the second half behind efficient shooting and balanced scoring. Palomar finished the night shooting 46.2% from the field and a sharp 48.1% from three, knocking down 13 triples.
Angel Ochoa led the way with 21 points and six assists, while Jaidyn Norman delivered a strong all-around performance with 19 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. Isaiah Pomare added 17 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting night, and Benjie Nudo chipped in 16 points, hitting three shots from beyond the arc.
Palomar also got solid contributions across the lineup, finishing with 19 assists and holding Mesa to just 40 percent shooting at the free-throw line, helping keep control down the stretch.
With the win, the Comets regain momentum heading into the next stretch of conference play.
Palomar will return home on Wednesday, hosting Cuyamaca College for a 5 p.m. tip inside the Dome.
