CHULA VISTA, CA (1/26/2026) -- Palomar came up short Monday night on the road, falling 92–86 to Southwestern College as the second round of Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play got underway.
After a slow start that saw the Comets trail by 21 at halftime, Palomar responded with a strong second-half push, outscoring Southwestern 60–45 over the final 20 minutes and cutting the deficit to single digits late. The early hole, however, proved too much to overcome.
Jaidyn Norman led the Comets with 22 points and seven rebounds, while Isaiah Pomare posted a strong all-around line with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Tore-Andre Gray added 14 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, and Justin White chipped in 10 points and seven boards.
Palomar shot 47.7% in the second half and won the rebounding battle 47–47, but struggled from beyond the arc, finishing 6-for-31 from three on the night.
With the loss, Palomar moves to 14–7 overall and 6–3 in PCAC play.
The Comets will look to bounce back on Friday, traveling to face San Diego Mesa College for a 5 p.m. conference matchup.
