SAN DIEGO, CA (1/23/2026) -- Palomar dropped an 86–94 decision on the road Friday night against San Diego City College, closing out the first round of Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play.
The Comets kept pace throughout the night and cut the deficit to single digits late, but San Diego City's efficiency in the second half proved to be the difference as the Knights improved to 8–0 in conference play.
Jaidyn Norman led Palomar with a strong performance, finishing with 25 points and seven rebounds, while Tore-Andre Gray added 18 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Benjie Nudo chipped in 11 points, and Justin Whitecontributed 11 points on an efficient 5-of-6 shooting night.
Angel Ochoa facilitated the offense with eight assists while scoring 10 points, and Isaiah Pomare pulled down eight rebounds as Palomar battled on the glass.
Despite shooting 34.4% from three and converting 19 free throws, the Comets were unable to overcome San Diego City's second-half surge and rebounding advantage.
Palomar will turn the page and open the second round of PCAC play on Monday, traveling to face Southwestern College in a key road matchup.
