Palomar Takes Series Opener Against San Diego City, 13-8

SAN DIEGO, CA (4/15/2025) -- No. 7 Palomar College kicked off its three-game Pacific Coast Athletic Conference series against San Diego City College with a 13-8 victory on Tuesday afternoon at Morley Field.

The Comets (25-10, 16-4 PCAC) trailed 7-6 entering the seventh inning but surged ahead with a five-run frame and added two more insurance runs in the eighth to secure the win.

Jordan Treadwell had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored, while Justin Tucker and Jacob Loving each drove in two runs. Braedon Peterson-Cheek chipped in with two RBIs and a stolen base, and Adrian Macias added a hit, an RBI, and a run scored.

The Comets collected 13 hits and drew six walks, capitalizing on five errors by the Knights to keep pressure on the home team throughout the game.

On the mound, Brandon Bollerer went four innings, allowing seven earned runs on nine hits with three strikeouts. Jacob Imoto (3-0) was stellar in relief, tossing five innings and allowing just one run while striking out nine to earn the win.

Palomar will return home for Game 2 of the series on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bob Vetter Field.
