Imperial Valley beats Comets in game two

IMPERIAL, CA (4/4/2019) – Palomar lost to Imperial Valley 7-6 in game two of the series. 

Noah Hemphill got things started in the first inning with a single and an RBI. Evan Ianniciello singled next and brought Trevor Omahen home.

In the fifth inning Mitchell Moralez reached first base on an error by the left fielder and Cameron Rowles and Ianniciello scored. Hayden Hastings doubled next and Moralez scored on an unearned run. Omahen grounded out, but was still credited the RBI when Adrian Collazo scored.

Braden Olthoff pitched seven innings and had eight strikeouts and gave up two hits and two runs. Andrew Reitmeyer pitched 1.2 innings and had four strikeouts and gave up seven hits and five runs.

The Comets will be back at Palomar on Saturday for game three of the series. First pitch is at 1 p.m.
