McCollum and Lecakes-Jones named PCAC October athletes-of-the-month

Kevin McCollum and Alina Lecakes-Jones have been named two of the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference's Athletes-of-the-Month for October. McCollum plays on the men's water polo team and Lecakes-Jones plays for the women's volleyball team.

McCollum had an outstanding October. The sophomore from Escondido High School scored 18 goals for Palomar in October conference matches and 30 during the entire month, including a season best of seven against San Diego Miramar College. He has also recorded 14 steals. He is fifth in the conference for goals at 69. He scored at least one goal in every game on October.

Lecakes-Jones is a sophomore from Rancho Bernardo High School. During the month of October, she had a career-high 19 kills against Cuyamaca College. She also racked up 15 against Southwestern and 10 against MiraCosta. Lecakes-Jones also had a career-high hitting percentage of .474 against Southwestern. She had 16 digs against San Diego City College.
