Palomar's Wrestling team won The Brawl at East L.A.

PC wins 7 weight classes, wrestle to team title at East L.A.

MONTEREY PARK (11-17-2018) – In a dominating performance, coach Brody Barrios' Palomar wrestlers won seven of 10 weight classes and easily brought home the championship of The Brawl at East Los Angeles College on Saturday.

The Comets won six weight classes and captured the team title with 347.5 points, defeating Rio Hondo in second placed, Cerritos in third, Bakersfield in fourth, Santa Ana in fifth and East Los Angeles in sixth place.

The Palomar "B" team won one class, placed second in another and took eighth place.

There were 19 teams in the tournament, including the USC Club Team and UC Riverside.

The Comets' weight class winners were Isaac Guerrero at 125 pounds, Eric Marquez who defeated Raul Ortiz of the Palomar "B" team at 133, Nathan Navida at 149, Jessy Diaz at 157, Mace Anderson at 165 and Cameron Cox at 174.

The Palomar "B" team winner was Eric Reyes at 141.

Only the Southern California Tournament and the CCCAA State Championships remain on the Comets' 2018 schedule.
