Comets' Trasvina finishes 10th in men's PCAC finals

SAN BERNARDINO (10-20-2018) – Mario Transvina, a freshman from El Camino High School, finished in 10th place to highlight the Palomar men's team's performance on Saturday in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Championships that were hosted by San Bernardino Valley College at Cal State San Bernardino.

Transvina ran the 4.0-mile course in 21:08.07.

Isaiah Labra from San Diego Mesa College, the team champion won the race with a 20:09.4 time. Kibrom Elias of Cuyamaca placed second in 20:19.3 and Mesa's Stefan Rasmusen finished third with a 20:30.8 time.

Among Palomar's other scoring runners in the men's race, sophomore Thomas Clay finished 31st among 46 scoring runners (40th-place among 79 runners overall with a 23:58.3 time; freshman Marcus Cummiskey placed 32nd among scoring runners (44th place overall) with a 24:27.8; freshman Steven Wright was 33rd among scoring runners (46th overall) with a 24:49.8; and freshman Armando Saldana finished 38th among scoring runners (60th overall) with a 26:57.6 time.

Mesa totaled 30 points in winning the men's team title, outdistancing second-place San Bernardino Valley with 60 points. The Olympians and Wolverines were followed by third-place San Diego City College with 72 points, fourth-place Cuyamaca with 74 points, Palomar in fifth place with 144 points, Southwestern sixth with 188 points and College of the Desert seven with 192 points.
