Women Swim: Palomar Hosts Waterman Festival

The Palomar Comets hosted the opening Waterman Festival this weekend including a day set aside for individual events and a day for relays. The teams they hosted included San Diego Mesa, Chaffey College, Cerritos, Cypress, Riverside City, and Grossmont.

Comets swimmer, Jordann Heimback (3:07.30) finishes just off first place by a tenth of a second in women's individuals to San Diego Mesa's Samantha Schmidt. It was a great individual day for Heimback as she finished top 5 in all events with her best time being in the 50 meter fly where she finished nearly a second faster or more than any other swimmer in the competition. Heimback also received a first place finish in the Women's 100 yard Butterfly at a time of 1:02.68. Other than Heimback Palomar had 3 other swimmers finish in the top 20 including Madalyn Johnson (3:26.51) with her best time being in the 50m freestyle at 26.51s, Sydney Thomas (3:27.07) with her best time being in the 50 meter freestyle at 26.42s, which was the fastest for the comets in this event, and Sophie White (3:30.76) with her best time being in the 50m freestyle at 28.12s, sporting the comets with a 12th, 13th, and 18th finish.

Palomar's Relay teams took first place in the 350 Yard Butterfly Relay (4:04.04), 200 Yard Medley Under/Over Relay (2:26.42), and 6x100 Yard Iron Woman Relay (7:18.14). They also finished 2nd place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay (2:09.40), 350 Yard Backstroke Relay (4:16.98), and the 350 Yard Breaststroke Relay (4:46.48)
