Comets start conference with statement win

CHULA VISTA, CA (9/28/2022) -- Palomar travelled to Grossmont College for their Pacific Coast Athletic Conference opener and won 13-3. 

Sophomore Elena Pena had a season-high seven goals and three assists to go along with three steals. Anna Draves finished with four goals and four steals. Freshman Bella Chacon recorded three assists and one steal. 

Goalie Madelynn Rutherford, the conference leader in saves at 48, had 10 saves on 13 shots. 

Palomar moves to 7-4 overall and 1-0 in PCAC play. They will face San Diego Mesa College on Wednesday, Oct. 12 for a 2 p.m. at Mesa.
