Comets prove dominant at Southwestern

CHULA VISTA, CA (9/17/2022) -- Palomar women's water polo competed in the Southwestern College Mini Tournament on Saturday and racked up two more wins to their already impressive record. 

In game one, they faced host Southwestern and won 12-6. Sophomore Jamie DeSrobo led the Comets with four goals, while Elena Pena finished with three and freshmen Grace Goode and Devyn Wible each had two. Sophomore Anna Draves shared the ball four times for assists. Pena and Goode once again proved they play both ends of the pool as they each had four steals, while freshman Hannah Morris had three. 

The Comets faced El Camino in game two and won 10-5. Draves led the scorers with four goals, while Pena, Wible and Morris each had two. Pena racked up four assists, while Goode had two. Pena, Goode and Maggie Tanner all had three steals. Goalie Torri Maurer had five blocks on the day. 

Palomar moves to 5-1 on the season and will head to the Mt. San Antonio College Tournament this weekend.
