Palomar Defeats Southwestern in Four Sets to Continue Conference Success

SAN MARCOS, CA (10/28/2024) -- Palomar College women's volleyball returned to Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play on Friday night with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Southwestern College (25-11, 23-25, 25-17, 25-23). The Comets improved their conference record with a balanced team effort.

Janell Spires led the charge, recording a match-high 21 kills and 26 digs, while also contributing four aces. Libero Cadence Young added 18 digs, and Emma Bambe was strong defensively with 19 digs, while also contributing 13 kills to the offensive effort.

Teiora Tinoisamoa and Brisa Necochea were forces at the net, each posting nine kills, with Necochea leading the team with four blocks. Bambe also added three blocks to her standout all-around performance.

Setter Ashlynn Craven had a stellar night, distributing 43 assists to keep the Comets' attack running smoothly. Delina Becker added three service aces to complement the team's aggressive serving strategy.

With the victory, Palomar moves to 12-4 overall and continues to build momentum in conference play, as they eye more success in the upcoming matches.
