Comets dig pink and sweep Knights

SAN MARCOS, CA (10/26/2022) -- A month after getting swept by San Diego City College, Palomar returned the favor as they defeated the Knights 3-0 in a dominant showdown Wednesday night.

With the Dome decorated in pink for Comets for a Cure, Palomar took set one 25-17, set two 25-18 and set three 25-19. The Comets designated this match as their Breast Cancer Awareness game. They raised money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Donations are still being accepted on the Palomar Athletics Instagram account. 

Leading the Comets all season, Savanna Lewis had 18 kills with a .343 hitting percentage. Holland Hancock recorded eight (.316%) and Hope Ihem had five (.375%). Sophomore setter Kenna Broach had 37 assists. Hancock led the team with eight digs, while Broach, Bailey Prieto and Lewis all had six.

Palomar moves to 9-8 overall and improve to 5-6 in conference play. They will face San Diego Miramar College on Friday night on the road. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
