SAN MARCOS, CA (9/27/2024) -- Following a tough 4-0 loss to Southwestern College, the Palomar College women's soccer team bounced back with an impressive 4-0 win over Grossmont College on Friday night, improving their conference record with a dominant all-around performance.
Emily Thompson got the scoring started for the Comets in the 16th minute, finding the back of the net off an assist from Nadia Shimasaki. Abigail Reyes extended the lead in the 29th minute, converting an assist from Ashley Clark. Reyes struck again in the 71st minute, once again set up by Clark's sharp playmaking.
Clark capped off the scoring in the 86th minute, netting a goal off an indirect kick from Maddie Spielman to seal the victory.
Goalkeepers Giana Velasco and Kaylee Cole shared duties in net, each playing a half and recording two saves to preserve the clean sheet.
With this victory, the Comets improved their standing and will aim to build on this momentum as conference play continues.
