Women face challenge in second week of conference play

Women's soccer faced Grossmont College on Tuesday and lost 3-1. The Comets showed major improvement in the first half. Angela Hernandez scored the first goal for the Comets in the first half. Palomar held Grossmont to no goals until the 54-minute mark when they tied it up. Grossmont went on to score two more goals.

Hernandez had three total shots, Grace Powell had one shot, Valerie Hernandez had three shots and Juliana Cervera had one shot.

Goalie Kassandra Blanchard had 10 saves on 13 shots.

On Friday, Palomar faced MiraCosta College and lost 3-0. Blanchard had eight saves on 11 shots.

Palomar is now 0-5-3 and will face San Diego City College on Tuesday on the road. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
