Wrestling sends four to State

Comets fans, friends, alumni, and supporters,

This past Saturday, we competed at the CCCAA Southern California Regional Championships. Overall, we finished the day with nine place winners, four state qualifiers, and a seventh-place team finish.

Our nine place winners were:

• 125 - Juan Diaz, 8th
• 133 - Owen Wilson, 5th
• 133 - Lucas Jeetan, 8th
• 141 - Randy Lockwood, 6th
• 157 - Gavin Kaminski, 3rd
• 184 - Armando Rodriguez, 6th
• 184 - Brayan Macias, 8th
• 197 - Oscar de la Cruz, 8th
• 285 - Allen Salgado, 8th 

Owen Wilson, Randy Lockwood, Gavin Kaminski, and Armando Rodriguez won some big matches and placed higher than their tournament seed, allowing them to punch their ticket to the big show this weekend.

 Each of these guys showed tremendous heart while battling back in the consolation bracket. We intend to bring this attitude into this weekend and get these guys on the state podium!
