Comets with best team performance at Meathead Movers Invitational

Comets fans, friends, alumni, and supporters,

This past week was an important competition week for us with two different events:

Dual vs. Rio Hondo

Wednesday night, we took on Rio Hondo, the #7 ranked team in the state. Daniel Hernandez, Owen Wilson, and Randy Lockwood all stepped up and defeated state-ranked opponents, with Randy Lockwood beating the #5 ranked wrestler in California. While we couldn't pull off the team victory, as a whole, we showed up ready to fight yet again and had a real shot at beating this team.

Final Score:

Rio Hondo 31 - Palomar 18

Meathead Movers Invitational Tournament at Cuesta College

Yesterday, we took 7th place out of 21 teams at the very tough Meathead Movers Invitational Tournament at Cuesta College.

We finished with five-place winners:

The performance of the day goes to Gavin Kaminski, who defeated the #3, #4, and #8 ranked wrestlers in the state convincingly.

This is our best team performance so far this year. Each of our wrestlers showed tremendous heart and outright proved that we will have state-level contenders in December. I'm very proud of our guys for their commitment and effort; however, there is plenty of work to do between now and the end of the season.

What's Next:

Next, we'll have #2 Cerritos College at home this Wednesday. This will be an excellent opportunity for our guys to step up and go toe-to-toe with top-level competition. After this, we'll finish our regular season at "The Brawl" at East Lost Angeles College on November 20th.
