Comets dominate Huskies for fifth win

SAN MARCOS, CA (11/19/2022) -- Palomar continued to wow the crowd on night two of the Comet Classic Crossover event when they defeated East Los Angeles College 105-50 in to move to 5-0 on the season.

Sophomore Deajanae Harvey is still campaigning on why she should be named the SoCal Player of the Year again as she narrowly missed out on her second triple-double (25 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists). She led the Comets in all three categories. Sophomore Eva Ciriza went 5-9 at the three-point line and was a perfect 2-2 at the charity stripe to finish the night with 17 points. 

The Comets forced 26 turnovers to score 43 points, 12 of which were fastbreak points. They also outrebounded the Huskies 52-27 and went on to score 25 second-chance points.

Palomar will hit the road to face rival Mt. San Antonio College on Wednesday afternoon for a top-ranked showdown. Top-off is set for 3 p.m. in Walnut.
