Saelee puts on record breaking show at Grossmont

CHULA VISTA, CA (1/10/2020) -- The Comets brought their dominating gameplay into conference when they defeated Grossmont College 90-20. The women held the Griffins to just one point at halftime to their 47. 

Sophomore Julie Saelee broke the previous record for most three-pointers scored in a game when she went 9-18 at the 3-point line. She had 36 points, a new career-high for her. Dee Dee Valenzuela had 16 points to along with two assists, four rebounds and one steal. Aaliyah Taylor had 11 points and seven rebounds. 

Palomar committed eight turnovers and caused 40, which allowed them to score 44 points. They also won the rebound battle when they nabbed 48 to Grossmont's 42.

The Comets improve to 16-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference. The women will be away on Wednesday to play San Diego City College for a 5 p.m. tip, but will be back home on Friday to face MiraCosta College at 6 p.m.
