CYPRESS, CA (12/8/2019) – In the championship round the Cypress College Lady Charger Classic, Palomar defeated East LA College 92-74.
Lilly Crabtree recorded her first season double-double. She finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds along with two assists. Nikki Mayoral and Aaliyah Taylor both had 18 points while Melena Bland finished with 14 and Taylor Williams had 13. McKenna Gentry was the final Comet in double digits with 11 points. Taylor posted eight rebounds, seven of which were defensive. Williams had four steals and three assists to go along with five rebounds. The Comets had 42 total rebounds and 17 assists. They were 49.3 percent in the field and 36.4 percent at the 3-point line. Palomar forced 19 turnovers to score 23 points off of them.
Mayoral was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament while Bland and Williams were named to the all-tournament team.
No. 4 Palomar moves to 11-1 on the season and will play No. 7 Mt. San Antonio College at 6 p.m. on Friday on the road.
