Kali Pugh, the hitting instructor on head coach Lacey Craft’s staff, led Palomar to the 2015 California Community College state championship, the Comets’ fifth.

Playing two seasons for the Comets, Pugh was a two-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association first-team Community College All-American, two-time California All-State selection, 2014 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Year, 2014 California Community College Player of the Year, 2015 PCAC Player of the Year, 2015 State Golden Glove winner and 2015 Scholar Athlete award winner.

During her sophomore season, she was third in the state with a .559 batting average, third in the state with 71 hits, fourth in the state with 59 runs scored, fifth in the state with a .606 on-base percentage and fourth in the state with a 1.071 slugging percentage. She also slugged 13 home runs.

Earning a scholarship to Oklahoma City University, she led the Stars to back-to-back NAIA National Championships in 2016 and 2017, was a two-time first-team All-American and was the NAIA National Player of the Year as a senior.

Pugh also was a Sooner Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year in 2016 and 2017 Conference Player of the Year. She also made the Dean’s Honor Roll in 2017 and graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2017.

She is a Master’s Degree candidate at Azusa Pacific University.

She will be in her second season as an assistant coach and hitting instructor at Palomar in 2019.
