Four Comet softball players transfer to four-year universities

SAN MARCOS, CA (8/14/2019) -- Four Comet softball players have signed with four-year universities. Allie Hughen has signed with South Alabama University. Megan Wachholtz signed with the University of the Pacific. Audrey Braun signed with Redlands University and Sarah Fisher signed with Oklahoma City University.

Hughen was a pitcher and infielder for the Comets. As a pitcher she recorded an ERA of 0.92 for the 2019 season. In 28 appearances, she pitched 98.2 innings and had 131 strikeouts. She was 15-2 as a sophomore. On the offensive side, Hughen had 21 RBIs with a batting average of .365.

Fisher led the team in batting average: .484. She recorded eight home runs in the 48 games played this season. She had 55 RBIs and in 179 plate appearances, she only struck out three times. At the CCCAA State Softball Tournament, Fisher was awarded the Best Hitter Award.

Wachholtz played in 48 games this season and had 42 RBIs. She had a batting average of .433. Wachholtz scored 46 runs for the Comets.

Braun pitched 58.1 innings for the Comets this season and recorded 42 strikeouts. She started nine games for the Comets and had 24 appearances with a record of 7-2.
