Comets roll past Tigers to extend winning streak

RIVERSIDE, CA (4/9/2019) – Palomar defeated Riverside 9-5 on Tuesday.

Rylee Penrod (2-4) had a three run home run in the second inning and got the Comets on the board. She has homered in both of their last two games. The next inning, Sarah Fisher (3-4) hit a bomb to right field for a two-run homerun.

In the fourth inning, Megan Wachholtz (2-4) singled to right field and was credited two RBIs as Penrod and McKenna Crawford (1-3) scored. In the fifth inning, Samantha Renteria (1-1) singled up the middle. Katie Bananal, who was on second, scored on an error by the catcher.  

Catalina Aguilar pitched all seven innings and had three strikeouts, six hits and five runs.

The team improves to 26-5 on the season and are on an eight-game winning streak.

The Comets are back in action Wednesday for a conference game at San Diego City. The game will start at 3 p.m.
