Cross Country finished third and fifth in Palomar Invite

OCEANSIDE, CA (9/6/2019) – Palomar hosted their annual Palomar Invite at Guajome Park on Friday morning. Coming off a women's second-place finish and a men's third-place finish last week, the Comets had another strong showing with a women's third-place finish and a men's fifth-place finish.

Addison (Fr) led the Comets with an 8th place finish covering the 3.1-mile course with a time of 20:50. Alexia Delgadillo (Fr) finished in 9th place with a time of 20:54. Liliana Prieto finished in 12th place with a time of 21:17. Jolie Beentjes (So), another Palomar scorer placed 18th and clocked 21:42 for the 5K Course. Twin sister, Mila Beentjes (So) finished 41st with a time of 24:40. Lessly Maldonado (So) finished in 47th place with a time of 25:26. 

On the men's side, Freshman Miguel Velasquez Campos led the Palomar Comets with a 15th place finish covering the course in 22:21. Robert Carney (Fr) finished in 33rd place with a time of 23:41. Patrick Zimbelmann (Fr) finished in 42nd place with a time of 24:09.  Isaiah Ralph (Fr) finished in 52nd place with a time of 24:42. Maximus Collier (Fr) was Palomar's 5th scorer and finished in 58th place in his first collegiate race with a time of 25:04. Marcus Cumminskey (So) finished in 69th place with a time of 26:02. Christian Tobin (Fr) finishes in 77th place with a time of 26:44.

Palomar Comets will compete next Friday, September 13th, at the So Cal Regionals Preview Meet at Mission Bay.
