Comets fall just short to Jags

SAN MARCOS, CA (10/26/2022) -- Palomar College faced Southwestern College on Wednesday afternoon and lost 10-9 in a hard-fought battle.

The Comets started strong take a 4-1 lead after one quarter of play, but the Jaguars bounced back to take a 6-4 lead at halftime. Each team scored one goal in the third. Palomar outscored the Jaguars 4-3 in the fourth, but still fell just short in getting the win. 

TJ Turner led the Comtes with four goals scored, while Aiden Rule scored two. Arleigh Williams and Kieran Reilly each had two assists. Rule and Turner also led the team with four steals. Goalie David Oceguera had 13 saves on the day.

Palomar will take a week and a half off before they head to Southwestern College for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament. Full seedings and tournament schedule will be available on the PCAC website next week. 

The Comets are currently 14-14 overall and finished 3-2 in conference play.
