Comets take down Olympians for second place

SAN DIEGO, CA (10/12/2022) -- In their third conference match of the season, Palomar faced San Diego Mesa College and pulled away for a 15-9 victory.

Locked in a back-and-forth battle, the Comets and Olympians were tied at four apiece after the first quarter. The Comets then outscored the Olympians in the second to take a one-point lead at the half. From there it was all Palomar as they outscored Mesa 8-3 in the second half to get the win.

An unselfish team, the Comets distributed the scoring. TJ Tuner and Kieran Reilly both finished the day with three goals, while Aiden Rule and Arleigh Williams each had two. Williams led the team with three assists. Reilly recorded four steals, while Daniel Bermea had three.

With the win, the Comets move to 11-11 overall and 2-1 in PCAC play. They currently sit in the second-place spot behind Grossmont College. The Comets will travel to Cerritos College on Friday for a mini tournament where they will face host Cerritos and West Valley College.
