EL CAJON, CA (3/15/2023) -- Palomar College opened up Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night and sweep the Grossmont College Griffins 3-0 for their second win of the season.
In a tight match, the Comets pulled away just enough to snag the win. They took set one 25-22, set two 25-18 and set three 25-22.
Sophomore Peter-Kalani Suiaunoa led the team with three solo blocks amd racked up 14 kills. Freshman Tyler Yraceburn led the Comets with 16 kills and two blocks. Freshman Cyrus Mak had a team-high two service aces and sophomore libero Jared Alegado finished the night with 17 digs.
The Comets advance to 2-7 on the season and 1-0 in conference and will host San Diego Mesa College on Friday night in the Dome for a 6 p.m. firts serve.
