Thomas, Jacob Combine For 3 More Records

SAN MARCOS (4-22-2017) -- A pair of Palomar female swimmers broke 3 more Pacific Coast Athletic Conference records between them on the final day of the conference championship meet on Saturday at Wallace Memorial Pool.

Emma Thomas' PCAC marks came in the 200-yard backsroke (2:10.49) and the 200 butterfly (2:06.58). She set 3 conference records during the meet's 3 days. Michelle Jacob broke the conference 200 breaststroke record, swimming 2:29.09. Thomas and Jacob were named the conference's Women's Swimmers of the Year along with San Diego Mesa's Anna Stahlak, who set 2 conference records during the 3-day event.

Palomar's Connor Baine was named Men's Co-Swmmer of the Year along with Mesa's Chris Evangelista. Baine and Evangelista both were triple winners. 

Mesa won the women's conference title with 931 points, followed by second-place Palomar (615), third-place Grossmont (445) and fourth-place Southwestern (248). The Olympians scored 1,075 points to race away with the men's team championship, followed by Grossmont (521 points) in second, the Comets (516 points) in third and Southwestern (316) in third. Baine won the men's 200 backstroke in 2:00.56 Saturday for his third victory of the meet.
