Picano named PCAC Offensive Player of the Year

SAN MARCOS, CA (11/28/2022) -- After their best finish in nearly a decade, Palomar landed four players to the All-PCAC team and freshman Diego Picano was named the Offensive Player of the Year.

Picano brought speed and talent to the forward position this season. The freshman from Santa Rosa scored five goals in conference play and recorded four assists for 14 points. He had one multiple-goal game when he scored two against Southwestern College on Oct. 4 in a 3-1 win.

Sophomore Henry Galindo, freshmen Marius Anquetil, Kael Kortz, and goalkeeper Max Subra were all named to the all-conference team. Galindo dished out two assists in conference play this season but was a force as a back for the Comets. Anquetil had a three-minute hat trick against San Diego City College in an 8-1 win. He then turned around and scored two more against San Diego Mesa College and two more against Southwestern College in a 6-1 win at home. He totaled nine goals and two assists from 20 points during the conference schedule. Kortz, a back, scored two goals for the Comets during PCAC play. Subra started all 12 conference games for the Comets this season and allowed just 12 goals and recorded two shutouts.

Congrats Comets!
