Comets roll past Jags with ease

SAN MARCOS, CA (10/28/2022) -- In a much-needed bounce-back game, the Comets faced the Southwestern College Jaguars and won 6-1 on Friday afternoon.

The high scoring Comets got to work early scoring their first goal at the 9-minute mark, thanks to Marius Anquetil off an assist from Masatoro Ono. The Jaguars tied it up in the 25th minute, but the Comets didn't let it stay that way for long. Eddie Villagrana broke the tie off a pass from Henry Galindo in the 28th minute. It was Anquetil once again for goal number three, this time off an assist from Cesar Velasquez to close out the first half.

Palomar didn't let up at that point. In the 76th minute, Carlos Elizondo scored to extend the lead as Rin Sato was credited with the assist. Thomas Marques pitched in an unassisted goal two minutes later. The final goal came from Isaac Linares off a pass from Kevin Rubio in the 89th minute.

The Comets move to 10-4-3 overall and 7-2 in conference play. They will play host to rival Cuyamaca College on Tuesday night for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
