SAN DIEGO, CA (10/18/2022) -- Palomar faced San Diego City College on Tuesday and won 8-1 on the road to close out the first round of conference play.

Marius Anquetil recorded his first hat trick as a Comet, and a three-minute hat trick at that. In the 83rd-minute, Anquetil recorded his first goal on an assist from Adrian Ibarra and then in the 85th minute, he scored again off a pass from Jonathan Solis and the final goal came in the 87-minute unassisted. The other four goals came from Thomas Marques, Carlos Elizondo, Kael Kortz and Isaac Linares

The Comet offense was flowing in every direction it needed and they got off 20 shots, 13 coming in the second half. They also totaled nine corner kicks.

Palomar has the best overall record in the conference, 8-3-3, and is now receiving votes in the California Community College Sports Information Association's Top 25 poll. The Comets are 5-1 in conference play and are in a three-horse race with MiraCosta College and Cuyamaca College as they head into the second round of conference play.
