Duenas commits to next level

SAN MARCOS, CA (4/22/2022) -- Josef Duenas has committed to NCAA DII Holy Names University in Oakland, CA to continue his soccer career. 

Duenas played one season for the Comets and started 11 of the 16 games he played in. The back had six goals and two assists on the season. All six of his goals came during conference play. He had a career-high two goals against San Diego Mesa College on October 19 in a 3-2 victory over the Olympians. He also scored the lone goal for the Comets when they faced Mesa in the season closer. 

In addition to excelling on the soccer pitch, Duenas excelled in the classroom while at Palomar. He was named tot eh 2021 CCCSCA Scholar-Athlete list. Student-athletes needed to have a  minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA and have completed 24 units to be considered. Duenas posted an impressive 3.58 GPA to land himself on the list.
