Comets' hot shooting leads to victory
SAN MARCOS, CA (9/20/2019) – Men's soccer defeated Cosumnes River on Friday night 4-3.
Palomar immediately got to business. Christina Bahena scored in the first two minutes of the game. Arturo Soltero then scored at the 8-minute mark on a free kick. Jessi Piazza then scored five minutes later on an assist from Bahena. Palomar was up 3-0.
Cosumnes River scored their first goal at the 27-minute mark and then again at the 42-minute mark. Seth Murphy scored the Comets' final goal at the 56-minute goal on an assist from Tyler Eldridge.
Palomar had five players get yellow cards in the match. Chris Alvarado received one at the 26-minute mark, Bahena received his at the 32-minute mark and Jacob Stutzman received his at the 33-minute mark. Robert Jeffers received one at the 42-minute mark and Shem Nikiza received on at the 69-minute mark. This was Stutzman's second yellow card on the season and the first for everyone else.
Palomar is now 4-3 and will face Cypress College on the road on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
