Comets defeat Moorpark 2-1 in home opener

SAN MARCOS, CA (8/27/2019) – In the season and home opener for men's soccer, the Comets defeated the Moorpark College Raiders 2-1 in regulation.

Sophomore forward Arturo Soltero scored the second goal for the Comets at the 47-minute mark on an assist from Luis Escoto. He had an assist on freshman Will Eskridge's goal at the end of the first half.

Freshman Andy Zazueta got a number of shots off throughout the game but was unable to get one in the net.

The Comets were leading 2-0 when Moorpark's Christian Ramirez scored late in the second half to get the Raiders on the board.

Bryan Covarrubias and Henrique Rubim both received yellow cards late in the second half.

Palomar will be back on the pitch Friday August 30 at Norco College at 3 p.m.
