Comets fall to Pirates

SAN MARCOS, CA (11/24/2023) -- The Palomar College men's basketball team came out fired up against Orange Coast College, but the Pirates got the best of the Comets with a 96-86 win in game one of the Palomar Thanksgiving Crossover Event.

Joseph Ogbebor had one of his best games this season offensively scoring 22 points, a team-high and going 4-5 from the free-throw line. Spivey Word finished with 18 points, while Jason Ezeadiugwu finished with 16. Ezeadiugwu finished with four rebounds and a team-high five steals on the night. 

The Comets were 16-25 as a team at the free-throw line and shot 43.9 percent in the field. Despite the loss, the Comets committed just 18 turnovers and were able to cause 23 in which they were able to score 20 points. 

Palomar falls to 4-2 overall and is set to play LA City College in the final game of the Palomar Thanksgiving Crossover Event.
